For all the Big Island visitors, who prefer staying
at a hotel to affordable
vacation rentals, Hawaii Affordable Big Island Vacation Guide
put together this list of Big Island hotels, inns and lodges according
to their location. When choosing your Big Island hotel, keep in
mind that the East Coast (Hilo, Puna, Hamakua Coast) has generally
more rain than the drier and sunnier West Coast (Kona, Kohala Coast),
which affects the room rates of Big Island hotels.
As a rule of thumb for your choice of a Big Island
hotel, room rates on the East Coast are considerably cheaper than
West Coast hotels. Consult a Big Island
map for towns and locations on the island. Also good to know
that Kohala Coast hotels, which are mostly 4 or 5-star hotels, can
be much pricier than Kona Coast hotels. Find a list of Big Island
hotels, from affordable inns and lodges to luxury beach front hotels.
